As I've admitted before, I'm a shameless reality TV addict.
Some of the best reality programs have nothing to do with voting someone off an Island. More often I'm now gravitating to the more "real" reality shows about food, cooking, decorating and house hunting.
For example, I was excited to watch some of my favorite Food Network chefs take on the White House's executive chef, Cristeta Comerford, on Sunday Night's episode of "Iron Chef." Those commercials previewing the episode that said the secret ingredient was "of national importance" reeled me in.
Every time Paula Deen adds more butter and mayonnaise to a recipe, I just have to applaud. And I'm now an expert in figuring out which of the three houses a couple will select on "House Hunters." (Hint ... it's usually the empty one!)
Unfortunately, some folks in New York and New Jersey are missing out on this fun because their cable provider dropped the Food Network along with HGTV.
If they're out there listening, I suggest they check out FiOS TV. We've got Food Network and HGTV in standard and high-def, as well as Fine Living and DIY Network. HGTV and the Food Network are also available through a Verizon High Speed Internet bundle that includes DirecTV.
Besides having the channels you love, there are a lot of great reasons to choose FiOS - our advanced all-fiber network, super-fast Internet service, a growing selection of widgets, social media applications from Facebook and Twitter, and our Home Media DVR, just to name a few. So, if you know anyone who's suffering from Alton Brown withdrawal, send them over to www.verizon.com and they can sign up today.
